SNU International Admissions ApplicationSNU extends a warm welcome to international students seeking to attend a master¡¯s or doctoral program. As a premier research institution in Korea, graduate programs are gaining increasing importance. International candidates include both foreign applicants and Korean students who have received entire education (from elementary to high school) abroad. All 71 graduate majors and 27 cooperative programs, not to mention our 6 professional graduate schools, are open to you. In addition to joining 2,300 international students who are already enjoying an excellent education and vibrant campus life at SNU, you will be a part of a remarkable educational institution with close to 4,000 of the best faculty in the nation and a fast growing number of foreign faculties. With a special program on an unprecedented scale to recruit talented teaching and research faculties from overseas underway, graduate programs at SNU will soar to new heights. Questions
When can I apply?
Although SNU¡¯s academic year begins in the spring, the university offers admissions for the fall semester as well as the spring. Please note the following important dates:
Online Application
1) Foreign applicants
- Graduate Programs
Deadline l Mon 4/28/08 ~ Thu 7/31/08 (by 6:00pm)
2) Korean students who have received their entire education abroad. Note Please read the eligibility criteria in the next section
Deadline l Mon 7/14/08 ~ Thu 7/31/08
* Create an account on the SNU website. (http://admission.snu.ac.kr)
* Note that the entrance to the program is in March 2009
Submission of Documents
Deadline l Fri 8/1/08
After having submitted the online application, applicants should send in a hard copy of all required documents. The required documents should arrive at the SNU Office of Admissions by this date. Applicants must have already submitted the online application.

Tuition Payment & Registration for Classes

Korean Proficiency Test

After the admission decisions are made, the admissions office will notify the students on individual basis whether they will be required to take the Korean proficiency test

Please Note
1. Starting in 2008, foreign applicants (except for students of Korean origin) may submit their application throughout the year. The dates and deadlines listed above are for applications to programs starting in March 2009..
2.¡°Foreign applicants¡± refers to students who are foreign nationals whose parents on both sides are also foreign nationals.
3. Expected Timeline for Future International Admissions & Applicable Programs
* For Spring 2009: By Thurs 7/31/08
* For Fall 2009: Mon 8/18/08 ~ Fri 4/10/09: (Undergraduate Transfer, Graduate Programs starting in Sept 2009)
* For Spring 2010: Mon 4/27/09 ~ Fri 7/31/09: (Undergraduate Transfer, Graduate Programs starting in March 2010)
* For Spring 2010: Mon 8/18/08 ~ Fri 7/31/09: (Undergraduate Freshman starting in March 2010)
4. Students of Korean origin who have completed their education abroad may apply in July of each year.
