Seoul National University
offers international students various ways to study, not
only as degree-seeking students but also as short-term
students such as exchange or visiting students.
A large number of international students in the past
have enjoyed studying at Korea¡¯s most prestigious university
and learning about Korea and Korean culture.
SNU currently accepts more or less 250 international students as exchange or visiting students.
The
Exchange Student Program is for students from
SNU¡¯s partner universities who wish to study at SNU for one
or two semesters and transfer credits to their home institution.
Since the first student exchange agreement with the University
of Tokyo in 1995, SNU has signed more than 500 academic exchange
agreements with institutions all around the world. To view the

To be an exchange student, candidates must be officially nominated
by their home institution and pay the tuition fee to their home
institution, not to SNU. On-campus housing is provided and fees
for taking Korean language courses will be partially supported.
For more information on this program, visit the website of the SNU
Office of International Affairs.
The
Visiting Student Program is offered to students who are from non-partnering universities but want to study at SNU for one or two semesters. The students must pay the tuition fee at SNU and may request a credit transfer at their home institution. On-campus housing is not available for visiting students, and there is no financial support for the Korean language program. To apply for the visiting student program, students must apply directly to the
SNU Office of International Affairs.
