Hello! My name is Chang Qing Ye,

and I am a sophomore majoring in Clothing Textiles in the College of Human Ecology. It has been three and a half years since I left Guang Zhou, China to come to Korea. Initially, I had come to Korea to learn the language, but during my stay, I fell in love with the country.
I decided to extend my stay here and applied to Seoul National University in hopes of learning more and really getting to know the country.

When I first entered the school, I was clueless as to what to do and how to go about the things that I had to do, and I had problems adapting to this unique world. I repeatedly made the same mistakes and when I finally was able to get them right, new mistakes loomed around the corner. But now when I look back upon all my past experiences, good and bad, I am confident that it was all a good experience and has been a contributing factor in making me who I am today.

The biggest mistake I made was probably the failure to realize how important grades were. Oblivious to their importance, I did not pay much attention to them and naturally, my grades weren¡¯t so good as a result. Now I know that good grades are not only imperative in getting a good job after graduation, but they bring forth other various advantages and opportunities such as scholarships and internships. Thus I strongly advise current and future students to pay more attention to your grades and study hard. This is one of those things better learned from your seniors¡¯ experience rather than your own experience.

Despite everything, my school life has ameliorated considerably after the foundation of SISA in 2007. SISA provided an opportunity to make new friends enabled us to exchange information. The numerous activities and events organized by SISA, including a sports days, Membership Trainings (MT), cultural experiences and end-of-semester parties for foreigners have also been of great help in brightening up my days and improving my overall sense of well-being here. I hope you will all share my experiences through active participation in the various SISA activities as well.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to my professors and fellow students who have shown me ceaseless care and support. I was deeply touched by my professors who relentlessly encouraged and supported me despite all my shortcomings, and I am truly grateful for their kindness. And last but not least, I would like to thank my friends and classmates for taking me under their wings and helping me out in times of need.
