[Interview] Two prominent literary scholars, Professor OH Saeng Keun (SNU Department of French Language and Literature) and Professor KIM In Hwan (Korea University, Dept. of Korean Language and Literature), are to retire this August. They have rigorously performed their research and the duties of their professorships throughout these past 30 years, not to mention their roles as critics of literature. Professor Oh and Kim shared their experiences with students involved in social activism, their thoughts on Foucault and Marx, and their ideas about what the humanities are about.

[Book Review] The bestselling book "It Hurts Because You Are Young" written by Professor KIM Rando of the College of Human Ecology (Division of Consumer and Child Studies), will be exported to China, Japan, Taiwan, and Italy. The plans for worldwide publishing are based on the thought that young people share similar concerns and pains despite their nationality.

[Interview] CHOI Chong Ko, SNU Professor at the School of Law, published a book about LEE Seung Man, the founding president of the Republic of Korea. The book is a compilation of former president Lee's writings, and therefore a type of anthology in this respect. Choi remarked that President Lee was a brilliant writer and he also called for a more balanced and deeper understandings of Lee.

[Research] YOUN Byeng Dong, SNU Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, invented a type of pavement that turns on the street lights when people walk on it. The paver mechanism is triggered when the vibration energy generated by people converted into electrical energy. KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology) had commissioned this research.
