Registration for Introduction to French 3 (2011 Summer Session)

The Department of French Language and Literature is offering the opportunity for undergraduate students to study French at Institut International d'Etudes Francaises de l'Universite Marc-Bloch de Strasbourg. The course allows students to study French for three weeks, and obtain 3 SNU credits. Please see below for details.

Open to: SNU undergraduates
Capacity: approximately 10 students

Pre-Requisites:
   Grade B+ or above in one intermediate or advanced French course.
      * Courses considered as intermediate or advanced French courses are:
         Introduction to French II, 
         French Composition
         Current French
         Advanced French Reading

Selection Process
   1. Assessment of submitted documents
   2. Interviews (twice): With a native French professor / the dean, and the supervisory professor
      1) First interview date (with a native French professor) : 
         Monday, May 2nd 11 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. ~ 6 p.m.
         Wednesday, May 4th 11 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. ~ 6 p.m. 
      2) Second interview date (with the dean and the supervisory professor) : 
         Thursday, May 12th 3:30 p.m. ~ 6 p.m.

Selection Result Announcement
   The notice will be posted on the Department of French Language and Literature website
    (http://www.snufrance.com) and successful students will be informed individually 
   on Thursday, May 12th 6 p.m. 
      * Course registration is open to the selected students after the selection result announcement.

Fees
   1. SNU will finance the tuition, the dormitory fee, and insurance charges.
   2. Each student has to cover the expenses for all meals, transportation and cultural explorations. 
      The cost is expected to total around 500,000 won.
   3. Each student has to purchase and arrange their own air transportation to France.
   4. Each student has to cover the expense for the summer session enrollment costs for 3 credits at SNU.

Application
   1. Period: Monday, April 25th ~ Friday, April 29th, 2011.
   2. Location: submit the required documents listed below to the Office of the Department of French 
      Language & Literature, located in Building #5, Room #326-2.
   3. Required Documents:

      ㆍCertificate of 2011 Spring Semester Enrollment
         (Your photo size on the application form should be 3.5cm x4.5cm)

   1. Regular language course
   2. Extracurricular activities: Cultural exploration 
   3. Group activities: Touring famous sites and watching cultural performances

Reminders
   1. You cannot cancel or receive a refund after course registration. 
   2. The summer session enrollment tuition for 3 credits at SNU is not included in the cost. 
      Each individual must print out the bill at the SNU portal (http://my.snu.ac.kr) and pay 
      at the allocated bank.
