LEE Sung Keun, Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at SNU College of Natural Sciences, and his research team, discovered the principles on how the atomic constitution of magma changes when under high pressure.

This research will help finding more about the beginning stages of the earth formation. 

The result was published on the online version of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) on April 13, 2011.
