SHIN Hye-jin, a post doctoral researcher at SNU College of Education surveyed 4,400 parents to analyze the relations between children's educational achievements and mothers' ability to get timely information.

There have been a common belief that a parent’s access to education-related information will determine the prestigiousness of university her child will be admitted to. The result said that they are not relevant.
